I haven't written here for quite a long time, whole summer, actually, but I'm trying to fix that and make posting on here a regular habit again. Not that I have tons of readers but I like to have a place where I can keep track of at least some of the stuff I read or watch. So for this post I decided to just list all the books I read and all the movies, series I watched during the summer with a really brief opinion. All that I can remember, that is.

Gossip Girl 5x22 - Raiders of the Lost Art

Honestly, I think it's time for this show to end, it doesn't make much sense for quite a while now. Yet I keep watching it because they pack it with secrets and you can't help but want to find out what they are. In this episode the latest big secret that was lurking around in the last few weeks has been revealed. There are still a few questions left waiting for an answer, though, which makes you want to watch the next episode. Or does it?

TV Series
There are a book and a movie about which I plan to write entries but I can proceed in the book only quite slowly (not because it is bad but because it's not exactly a light reading) and I simply cannot get myself to continue watching the movie (yes, because it is bad). So in the meanwhile I thought I'd write about a few TV shows that I've been watching for a while, just started watching and/or planning to drop.

A Gifted Man
![]() | Another medical drama (though I don't know if I can call Hart of Dixie a drama...) This time the main character is a succesful neurosurgeon who lives in his money-oriented world until one day he bumps into the ghost of his ex-wife, which completly changes his life. I was searching for a new series to watch and after reading quite a lot of plot summaries, this was the only one that I found interesting. The poster helped too, I like its minimalism. So after 10 episodes I can say I'm not disappointed. At all. Actually, I think it turned out to be better than I'd expected it to be. The storyline is interesting, the characters are great and it's not predictable at all. |

Hart of Dixie
![]() | A few days ago my sister called me telling that there was a tv show she was watching and that I had to watch it too. Being the obedient little sister that I am, I started watching it the next day. Actually I'd been meaning to check it out for a while since its title kept popping up on my screen during Gossip Girl and Ringer. So onto the opinion part: It is really good. (I think I should just watch something horrible and write about it here, because this starts to get boring.) Although the sory is not the most creative one it's far from being boring and the characters are lovable figures. Even the negative ones are not one-dimensional and with time, as more and more is shown of their lives, you can understand (at least some) of their actions. For some mysterious reason the series reminds me of Cougar Town. Even if it is not a sitcom and the story is different as well. I don't know, maybe it's the colours, the atmosphere or the music? I have yet to figure it out. Another series it reminds me of is Gilmore Girls. And for that I can give you a reason, too. It also sets in a small town with crazy festivals and crazy people. Except this small town is in Alabama, which means a different kind of crazy. Definitely a show to put on your to-watch list. |
