TV Series

There are a book and a movie about which I plan to write entries but I can proceed in the book only quite slowly (not because it is bad but because it's not exactly a light reading) and I simply cannot get myself to continue watching the movie (yes, because it is bad). So in the meanwhile I thought I'd write about a few TV shows that I've been watching for a while, just started watching and/or planning to drop.

The first on my list is Ringer. Yes, it already had its season (and probably final) finale, but I must write a few lines about it. I don't get why it wasn't successful in the US. I seriously don't understand American people, they tend to like shit shows, and let other great ones just get cancelled after one single season. For me Ringer was one of the best shows this season, if not the best one. Yes, it had its downs, and if I want to be completely honest there were a few things that didn't make any kind of sense, but each and every episode was intense, interesting and exciting. I'm still hoping that some miracle will happen and it gets a second season, even though I know it most likely will not.

Another show that is probably going to share Ringer's destiny is Hart of Dixie. I started watching it mid-season. I mean, some episodes had already aired when I discovered it and I marathoned them instantly (as I already wrote it in here). At that point I simply loved the series. Now this have changed since then. After the last few episodes I think I'm not going to be devastated at all if it does get cancelled after all. I don't really understand the writers, not only did they take the storyline in a completely wrong direction but they also left out funny supporting characters who could have saved these episodes from being absolutely boring. There are still two episodes left but I'm not hoping to see anything uber-interesting in them.

Smash. The other day I caught one episode on TV. I had read about the series, was contemplating to start watching it even, and was quite surprised to already see an episode on Hungarian television. I watched the episode (it was the sixth one), liked it and decided to check out the first five. Currently I'm at the seventh episode and up until now I'm loving it. The music is great, the actors and actresses have amazing voices, the characters are complex, the whole thing is awesome. So far, I must add.

The Big Bang Theory. I'm a fan of this show for a while now but I must say that this last season was a bit disappointing. As far as I know there is only one episode left from it and I think this is going to decide whether I'm going to continue watching it or not. If it gets renewed, that is. I haven't heard or read rumours about it getting cancelled and, anyway, it seems to be still quite popular, so I guess it is going to have another season. I'm just not sure if I will be sitting in front of my monitor to watch it.

I was pretty late to discover this last year. By then the whole season had aired so I didn't have to wait for a week for the next episode. I finished those episodes off pretty quickly and I really did like the whole series. I watched it after The Tudors and, to be honest, after that I found it refreshing. Less violence, less bed scenes. I was waiting for the second season but now that I have watched two episodes of it, I'm contemplating dropping it for now. I think it is too heavy compared to the other shows I'm watching and that's why I find it way too brutal right now. I'm sure I will watch it sometime in the future, I think it will be in the winter, in my opinion it is not something you wish to watch in summer, but maybe it's just me.
