Movies of the Summer

I was thinking and I could recall a few films that I watched during the summer. So I'll just list them here with a few words long opinion.

Bel Ami: Wouldn't have been an absolutely bad movie but the Twilight guy and his complete lack of acting talent totally ruined it for me. I felt sorry for the other actors and actresses. I think I would have enjoyed watching it if it was another (talented) actor playing his part.

The Break-up: Maybe I watched it at a wrong time, (though I don't think that was the case). I wanted to like it but I couldn't. It was way too realistic for my taste. It was if we, I don't know, would have peeked into some neighbour's life. If I want to see or hear petty fights I can do that in real life too, don't need to sit through a movie.

Death at a Funeral: (It was the original English one, not the American version.) Real English humour, which I liked, with some pretty disgusting scenes, which I liked less. Well, what else can I write, if you like the genre you will laugh your neck off.

Jeff Who Lives at Home: To be short: it was horrible.

My One and Only: I watched it on television and if I remember well, I didn't see the very beginning. It was really enjoyable, though. I liked it, even though it wasn't the happiest.

Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadows: I couldn't watch it all the way through. Bored myself stupid after like the first ten minutes so I stopped watching after half an hour and never could get myself to start watching it again. I don't think that I will ever get myself to watch it, actually. It's strange, since I kind of liked the first one.

The Painted Veil: It was a heavy movie. One of those that stay with you for quite a while and I would say one of those that require a certain mood. It was sad but I think I liked it.

Wanderlust: It wasn't as bad as the reviews I read said. Actually, it was OK. Nothing special but not horrible either. It's a shame that Jennifer Aniston usually picks bad scripts. I think she is really talented and I would like to see her in a movie that I really like. It has yet to happen though.

Also, I would like to take up a challenge. I collected a few historical movies/period films that I'd like to watch and I thought why not watch them within a month. So from today on, or actually from  yesterday as the Benjamin Button movie was on the list too, I'm going to post about a period movie every other day. First I thought it would be every day but that is too tight. So a post every other day for a month, that is, until the 11th of October.
